University Properties of Finland Ltd’s year in brief
2019 progressed as planned for our projects. Some 200 projects were in progress, especially focusing on the goals of sustainability. One of our goals is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.
There was a major event in the organisation in the autumn when Sanna Sianoja MSc (Tech.), eMBA was appointed as the new CEO. She started in her position in November. Mauno Sievänen, the CEO of the company since it was established, retired at the turn of the year.
Our average score in the customer satisfaction survey was 3.6 on a scale of 1 to 5. More than half the customers responding to the survey gave a rating of 4 or 5 to the thematic questions regarding new construction and renovation, premises development, customer relationship management and property maintenance. 26 per cent of the customers responding to the survey were of the opinion that our operations had developed during the year.
Business
We build campuses and develop them into international-level learning environments and parts of the surrounding urban structure.
Responsibility
We are responsible for providing our customers with appropriate and safe operating premises. Our goal is to own the most responsible campuses in Europe by 2030. We move towards this goal by working in the fields of environmental, financial and social responsibility.

The Financial Statements 2019
The tenth anniversary year of SYK included several memorable events. Significant investments were made in maintenance and annual repairs.

We own and develop university campus properties outside the Helsinki metropolitan area. We produce and provide our customers with cost-effective facilities that suit their needs. Our customers are universities, higher education institutions and research institutes as well as businesses.
